A rental door is opened by dozens of strangers over a year, and the lock on it carries a different load than the lock on a family home. Most of the features that sell a consumer lock barely matter here. A short list of other things decide whether the operation runs or stalls.
What a landlord has to answer for
The questions that matter on a rental property are not the ones a homeowner asks. A landlord is answerable to guests, cleaners, contractors and neighbours, and has to be able to answer four of them on demand:
