Overview

The Sciener Gateway is the bridge that connects your Bluetooth (BLE) smart locks to the internet. A lock on its own is smart; paired with a gateway it becomes remotely manageable — you can open doors from anywhere, issue temporary passcodes on the fly, receive real-time unlock alerts, and sync unlock logs to the cloud.

It is the single most important accessory for any property that needs remote management: hotels, serviced apartments, short-term rentals, offices and multi-tenant buildings.

Key features

  • 24/7 remote unlock. Open any connected lock from the TTLock / Sciener app, no matter where you are.
  • Real-time alerts. Get instant notifications when a door is opened, when a passcode is used, or when the lock runs low on battery.
  • Temporary access on demand. Generate time-limited passcodes for guests or contractors without being on-site.
  • Cloud history. Every unlock event is synced and timestamped in the cloud for audit and reporting.
  • Always-on design. Plugs into a standard power outlet and connects to Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) or wired Ethernet, depending on model.
  • Multi-lock support. A single gateway can manage several Bluetooth locks within range.

Installation guide

  1. Choose a location. Place the gateway within Bluetooth range (typically up to 10 m) of the lock(s) it will manage, and within reach of Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
  2. Power on. Plug the gateway into a wall outlet using the supplied adapter. The power LED should light up.
  3. Bind in the app. Open the TTLock / Sciener app, go to the Gateway section, and add a new gateway following the on-screen pairing steps. Enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi credentials when prompted.
  4. Pair locks. From the gateway settings, select the locks you want to attach. The gateway will scan and bind nearby locks.
  5. Verify. Trigger a remote unlock from the app and confirm the lock responds. Check that real-time alerts are delivered.

Tip: Avoid placing the gateway behind thick metal doors or inside metal cabinets — these block both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals.

Use cases

  • Hotels and serviced apartments — enable mobile check-in and remote guest support.
  • Short-term rentals — issue self-expiring codes to guests and monitor arrivals in real time.
  • Offices — let administrators unlock doors for visitors or deliveries without leaving their desk.
  • Multi-tenant buildings — centralise management of many locks through one cloud account.

FAQ

Do I need a gateway for every lock? No. One gateway can manage multiple locks within Bluetooth range. For larger properties, several gateways can be deployed and managed together in the app.

What happens if the internet goes down? The locks continue to work offline with fingerprint, passcode, card and key. Remote features and cloud sync resume automatically once connectivity is restored.

Does the gateway store my Wi-Fi password securely? Yes. Credentials are encrypted on the device and are not exposed through the app interface.
