Overview
The Sciener Door Sensor is a small wireless device that detects whether a door (or window) is open or closed. Paired with a smart lock and gateway, it turns "the door is unlocked" into "the door was opened, right now, by credential X" — the difference between a log entry and an actual security event.
It is invaluable for monitoring unattended entrances, stockrooms, server cabinets, and any door where the state matters as much as the lock.
Key features
- Open/close detection. Reliable reed-switch sensing reports the door state in real time.
- Tamper and forced-entry alerts. Notifies you if the sensor is removed or the door is opened while still locked.
- Long battery life. Low-power wireless operation runs for a year or more on a coin cell.
- Wireless pairing. Binds to a Sciener lock/gateway in seconds through the app.
- Event correlation. The app combines sensor events with lock events into a single, readable timeline.

Use cases
- Back doors and stockrooms — get an alert the moment an unattended door opens.
- Short-term rentals — know precisely when a guest arrives or leaves.
- Cabinets and safes — monitor sensitive storage between scheduled checks.
- Hotels — flag a balcony or connecting door left open.
FAQ
Does the sensor work without a gateway? The sensor reports to the lock immediately, but to receive push notifications when you are away from the property, a gateway (internet connection) is required.
Will it trigger false alarms from vibration? No. The sensor reports state (open/closed) and tamper, not vibration, so normal door movement and nearby traffic do not cause false events.
