Overview

The Sciener Lift Controller brings credential-based access control to elevators. Instead of every passenger being able to press any button, the controller restricts floor selection to authorised users: residents reach their own floor, staff reach service floors, and visitors are granted access to a single destination.

It is the standard for residential towers, hotels and corporate buildings that need to control vertical movement as rigorously as horizontal.

Key features

  • Floor-level access. A user's credential unlocks only the buttons for their authorised floor(s).
  • Credential-driven. Works with the same cards, codes and app used at the doors.
  • Visitor management. Issue a one-time or time-limited floor assignment to a guest.
  • Integration with building systems. Interfaces with the elevator controller to enable/disable floor buttons.
  • Central management. Configure floors, groups and schedules from the Sciener software.

Installation guide

  1. Survey the elevator. Confirm the elevator controller interface and wiring approach with the building's lift contractor.
  2. Mount the controller. Install in the elevator machine room or cab as appropriate.
  3. Wire to the elevator controller. Connect the floor-button control lines per the agreed interface.
  4. Pair and configure. Pair with the gateway, then map credentials to authorised floors and groups.
  5. Test per role. Confirm residents, staff and a sample visitor each reach exactly the right floor(s).

Coordination note: Lift integration typically requires cooperation with the building's elevator maintenance provider; plan the installation window accordingly.

Use cases

  • Residential towers — residents reach their floor; deliveries are sent to one floor.
  • Hotels — guests reach their room floor only; staff access service floors.
  • Corporate buildings — department-level floor segregation.
  • Secure facilities — restrict sensitive floors to cleared personnel.

FAQ

Does it require replacing the elevator panel? No. The controller integrates with the existing elevator controller to enable or disable buttons; the panel itself is not replaced.

Can a visitor use the elevator without a card? Visitors can be issued a temporary credential or granted a single-floor assignment from reception through the software.
