Overview

The Sciener Power Switch brings the same remote-control convenience you enjoy on your doors to your lights and appliances. Mounted behind a standard wall switch or in a distribution box, it lets you turn circuits on and off from the app, on a schedule, or as part of a scene.

It extends a Sciener deployment from "secure the doors" to "automate the building" — useful for corridors, common areas, holiday homes and energy-saving schedules.

Key features

  • Remote on/off. Toggle lights or appliances from the app, anywhere.
  • Schedules and timers. Automate lights, signage or equipment on a daily or weekly schedule.
  • Scenes. Trigger multiple switches together — for example, "arrive home" turns on hallway and porch lights.
  • Status feedback. See the current on/off state of each circuit in the app.
  • Integrates with access control. Tie lighting to door events (for example, light the corridor when a door opens).

Installation guide

  1. Isolate power. Switch off the relevant circuit at the breaker before any wiring.
  2. Wire the switch. Connect the switch in series with the controlled load per the wiring diagram.
  3. Restore power and pair. Turn the breaker back on, then pair the switch with the gateway in the app.
  4. Configure. Name the switch, set schedules or scenes, and test.

Safety note: Mains wiring must be carried out by a qualified electrician and in compliance with local electrical codes.

Use cases

  • Corridors and common areas — schedule lighting to save energy.
  • Holiday homes — switch lights on/off remotely to deter intrusion.
  • Offices — automate signage and meeting-room equipment.
  • Hospitality — turn on room and corridor lights as part of guest check-in.

FAQ

Can it handle high-power loads like heaters? Only within the switch's rated load. For high-power appliances, use the switch to drive a suitable contactor rather than switching the load directly.

Does it remember its state after a power cut? The switch reports its current state to the app; configurable behaviour on power restoration is available per model.
